KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WFRV) – Last season ended in heartbreak for Kaukauna softball. The Galloping Ghosts lost in their state semifinal matchup against Milton, ending an 108-game win streak and a chance at four consecutive state championships.
But this season, Kaukauna viewed that defeat as motivation. The Ghosts have responded by winning all 25 games they’ve played this season. That included a victory over then-undefeated Green Bay Preble in the sectional final.
Kaukauna’s quest for its fifth state title since 2017 starts on Wednesday against Sun Prairie East at 11 a.m.
