OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – Tuesday was the last day for people to have a chance at collecting bricks from the site of the former Merrill Elementary and Middle School building.
The Oshkosh Area School District held an initial giveaway on May 6, handing out keepsake bricks from the most historic pieces of the building, with about 1,000 available.

The last round of pickups was from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, as the cleaned and harvested bricks were handed out to those who wanted a piece of the historical building. There are many other bricks still around, however, but they were preserved for the Merrill Memorial Corner, being built at the former site.
Pick-ups were held at the Oshkosh Area School District Maintenance Building on a first-come, first-served basis, with no one-brick limit this time around.
