EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WFRV) – One man is in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after firefighters rescued him from a river Tuesday morning in Wisconsin, authorities say.
According to a release from the Eau Claire Fire Department, crews responded at 8:03 a.m. to an area of the Chippewa River between the Lake Street Bridge and the Water Street Bridge where a man was seen struggling to stay afloat in the water.

Officials say rescue equipment was set up on the east bank of the river near the Water Street Bridge before an ECFD firefighter entered the river in a wetsuit, swam to the man, and kept them afloat until a rescue boat could assist.
The man was taken back to shore before being taken to the hospital by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.
