SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southern Wisconsin are crediting automatic license plate readers with aiding in the arrest of two individuals with active warrants.
According to the Sun Prairie Police Department, shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, officers received an alert about a vehicle linked to an individual with active warrants held by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers located the vehicle unoccupied in a lot near Schiller Street and began coordinating a tactical response to the scene. As officers moved into position, two individuals fled on foot, prompting the establishment of a perimeter across several residential streets.
Officers were assisted by other law enforcement agencies, drone teams, and multiple residents who reported sightings of the individuals. “Their timely observations played a key role in locating both suspects,” said the Sun Prairie Police Department in a media release.
During the search, 28-year-old Carlton Forbes of Madison jumped into the back of an uninvolved, occupied Jeep and ordered the driver to flee. Officers intervened and safely took him into custody.
A short time later, 27-year-old Marsean White of Sun Prairie was located near West Main Street and also taken into custody without incident.
Both Forbes and White were arrested for resisting arrest and booked into the Dane County Jail. White was additionally booked on multiple warrants for disorderly conduct and battery.
“This incident highlights the proactive work of Sun Prairie officers, the effective use of technology, strong partnerships with regional agencies, and the vital role of community involvement,” said the Sun Prairie Police Department.
The department added that the arrests would not have been possible without the use of automatic license plate readers, which alerted officers to the vehicle’s presence and initiated the response.
