MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) – On May 4, three young anglers in Menasha were left with over $1,000 of their fishing equipment destroyed.
The two suspects in the incident were quickly found thanks to what the Menasha Police Department called overwhelming community support; however, the young fishers were left without their equipment until now.
The Menasha Police Department hosted a special event on Thursday, where the victims of the vandalism incident were recognized and provided with gear donated by the community and local anglers.
In a release for the event, Community Liaison Officer Matt Roe said the event was important because it showed the three young fishers that their community is here for them.

“This is about more than just gear—it’s about showing these young people that their community stands with them,” Officer Roe said in a release.
From a variety of tackle boxes, fishing rods, bait and countless other fishing equipment, the young fishers were able to get support from their community and those who serve and protect it.
