JACKSON, Wis. (WFRV) – A 69-year-old man in Wisconsin was found dead after he reportedly fell out of a rowboat while snorkeling on a lake Thursday evening.
According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a 911 call around 5:17 p.m. on June 12 concerning a person who fell out of a rowboat on Parker Lake near State Highway 82 and 3rd Avenue in Jackson.

Deputies were dispatched to the area, and a second 911 caller reported that they saw a body floating 75-100 yards off the shore.
Oxford Fire and Rescue was able to commandeer a person’s boat and recover the man, who was pronounced dead by the County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The investigation revealed that the man, identified as 69-year-old Michael Hilliard of Kenosha, was on a rowboat while snorkeling. A witness reported that Hilliard had not returned after roughly two hours, and that they looked and called for help.

Hilliard reportedly was not wearing a life vest at the time he was recovered.
