GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Thousands of runners, walkers, and volunteers took over the streets of Green Bay Saturday morning for the 49th annual Bellin Run — one of the city’s longest-standing community events.
The 10K race drew participants from across the Midwest, including elite competitors and first-time runners. With temperatures in the 50s and sunny skies, the weather made for fast conditions — and some memorable performances.

Amy Davis-Green, a professional runner who grew up in Madison and now lives in Michigan, took first place in the women’s division. She crossed the finish line at 33:26— and did so while 14 weeks pregnant.
“It feels sweet,” Davis-Green said. “I was thinking, ‘Come on, little guy, we got this.’ I did talk to him a little bit before — don’t make me sick, I need your energy!”
Davis-Green competes for the Brooks Hanson’s Distance Project, a professional running group based outside of Detroit. Her husband and teammate, JP Flavin, won the men’s division with a time of 29:23 — in his first trip to Green Bay.
“Seems like everyone is here to have a good time, and that’s the best type of race I’d say,” Flavin said. “It was a great sense of community out there — a great course with really nice running weather too, so that always helps.”
While some came to race competitively, many were there for the experience. The Bellin Run includes a range of events, from youth races to the popular Team Triumph program, which allows athletes with disabilities to take part with the help of volunteer guides.

“This event is a goal for people in our community because we’re promoting physical activity,” said assistant race director Linda Maxwell. “It’s such an important part of overall health, and Bellin Health has supported this for over 49 years.”
Organizers say early planning is already underway for the Bellin Run’s 50th anniversary next year.
