(WFRV) – The Mishicot softball team won its second state championship in program history which was powered by a dominant pitching performance from senior Kiran Sanford.
Sanford set a division four state record with 20 strikeouts in an extra inning affair. The senior pitched nine innings and only allowed one hit. Sierra Skarda delivered the game-winning hit in the top half of the 9th inning as Mishicot defeated Pacelli 1-0.
This marks the first state title since 2021 for the Indians.
