FALL RIVER, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials say speed and alcohol appear to be factors in a motorcycle crash Friday night in Wisconsin that led to the death of a 50-year-old man.
According to a release from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 9:38 p.m. on June 13 to reports of a motorcycle in a ditch on County Highway D near County Highway DG outside the Village of Fall River.
Officials say they arrived at the scene within four minutes of the 9-1-1 call and immediately began life-saving measures on the driver of the motorcycle, who was found not moving.

An initial investigation suggests the motorcycle was heading west on County Highway D at the time of the crash when it lost control, entered the ditch, and ejected the driver before coming to rest in a drainage ditch along the side of a farm field.
The driver, a 50-year-old man from Fall River, was pronounced dead at the scene with deputies reporting speed and alcohol as possible factors.
County Highway D was closed between Hemling Road and County Highway CD for two hours. No other information is available at this time, and an investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
